Evan Rachel Wood
Evan Rachel Wood was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, on the 7th of September, 1987. Her father Ira David Wood III is a stage writer and actor, and her mother Sara Wood is an actress and acting coach. She is the daughter of Dana Wood, a musician, as well as Ira David Wood III, an actor. Evan and her brothers have performed in the Theatre In The Park, Raleigh which is where her father is the executive director. When she was five, she screen-tested against Kirsten Dunst for her lead role in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) after a long auditioning process. In the year 1996, she moved to Los Angeles along with her brother Ira and mother. She has appeared in television shows, feature films, and TV movies ever since. She was the main character in Practical Magic (1998) as Al PacinoĆ¢€™s daughter. The comedy S1m0ne(2002) was followed by Thirteen (2003) with Holly Hunter. Her role in the film's breakout performance as Tracy in "Thirteen" garnered her a Golden Globes nomination for Best Performance by an actor in a Motion Picture: Drama and for an Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by Female Actress in an Leading Role. She was the youngest actress to have been nominated for an award for a Leading Role award at the time. She won an Golden Globe and Emmy nomination for "Outstanding Supporting Actress in the form of a Miniseries or Movie" for her portrayal of Veda Pierce in the HBO miniseries Mildred Pierce (2011). Her dramatic performance as Stephanie Rourke's estranged daughter in Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler (2008) earned her praise. Sara Wood and Ira David Wood III are her parents. Little sister to Ira David Wood IV and Dana Wood. She is a certified dancer. She loves to sing, swim or rollerblade and also go horseback riding. She is black belt in tae kwon do. She has kept in touch throughout her time in Once and Again (1999), castmates: Mischa Barrton, Julia Whelan and Shane West.
