Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born on November 18 the 18th of November, 1985, in Los Angeles. The father of her Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley, and their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix demonstrated a talent for athletics early on discovering her athletic abilities while she was at the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Only 10 weeks after her initial tryout, she placed in second place in the 200-meter race during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix was signed to a career in professional sports with Adidas in 2003. She later enrolled in University of Southern California to pursue a degree in elementary education. Her first Olympic medal came at the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place at Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for running 200m in 22.18 seconds. In the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the world's youngest champion in the distance of 200 meters. The following year, she was able to defend the title in front of her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was a frequent competitor in London, Beijing Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo. She always finished within the top three places of all events.
